Renewable energy is a form of energy derived from natural sources that are replenished at a higher rate than they are consumed. Renewable energy sources are plentiful all around us. Sunlight and wind, for example, are such sources that are constantly being replenished. Renewables are now cheaper in most countries. Economies of scale and innovation are already resulting in renewable energies becoming the most sustainable solution environmentally but also economically in terms of low costs for keeping energy prices at affordable levels. As of today, around 20% of the world’s energy needs come from renewable energy sources.

Hydro Energy harnesses the energy of water moving from higher to lower elevations. It can be generated from reservoirs and rivers. Reservoir hydropower plants rely on stored water in a reservoir, while run-of-river hydropower plants harness energy from the available flow of the river. Hydropower currently is the largest source of renewable energy in the electricity sector. It relies on generally stable rainfall patterns and can be negatively impacted by climate-induced droughts or changes to ecosystems which impact rainfall patterns.

Wind energy can be defined where wind is used to produce electricity by converting the kinetic energy of air in motion into electricity. In modern wind turbines, wind rotates the rotor blades, which convert kinetic energy into rotational energy. This rotational energy is transferred by a shaft which to the generator, thereby producing electrical energy. Both onshore and offshore wind still have tremendous potential for greater deployment and improvement, globally.

Geothermal energy utilizes the accessible thermal energy from the Earth’s interior. Heat is extracted from geothermal reservoirs using wells or other means. The technology for electricity generation from hydrothermal reservoirs is mature and reliable and has been operating for more than 100 years. The vast majority of Earth’s heat is constantly generated by the decay of radioactive isotopes, such as potassium-40 and thorium-232. Radioactive decay is a continual process in the core. Temperatures there rise to more than 5,000°C (about 9,000°F).

Global Warming is the long-term warming of the planet’s overall temperature. Though this warming trend has been going on for a long time, its pace has significantly increased in the last hundred years due to the burning of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels include coal, oil, and natural gas, and burning them causes what is known as the “greenhouse effect” in Earth’s atmosphere. Global warming has presented another issue called climate change.
Greenhouse gasses are: Carbon Dioxide, Chlorofluorocarbons, Water vapor, Methane, Nitrous oxide.
Causes for Global Warming are: Greenhouse Gases, Acid rains, Reduced agricultural yields, Volcanic Activity, Declining water supplies
Pollution Control:
Pollution is the introduction of harmful materials into the environment. These harmful materials are called pollutants. Pollution control is the process of reducing or eliminating the release of pollutants into the environment. It is regulated by various environmental agencies which establish pollutant discharge limits for air, water, and land.

Climate Change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, such as through variations in the solar cycle. Climate change threatens people with food and water scarcity, increased flooding, extreme heat, more disease, and economic loss. Climate change can be mitigated by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and by enhancing sinks that absorb greenhouse gases from the atmosphere renewable energy is the key to limiting climate change. Reducing energy demand is another major aspect of reducing emissions.
Recycling is the process of converting waste products into reusable materials. Typical materials that are recycled include iron and steel scrap, aluminum cans, glass bottles, paper, wood, and plastics. The materials reused in recycling serve as substitutes for raw materials obtained from such increasingly scarce natural resources as petroleum, natural gas, coal, mineral ores, and trees. Recycling can help reduce the quantities of solid waste deposited in landfills, which have become increasingly expensive. Recycling also reduces the pollution of air, water, and land resulting from waste disposal.
There are two broad types of recycling operations: internal and external.
Waste Management Techniques: E-Waste Recycling and Management, Solid Waste Management, Wastewater Recycling, Plastic & Paper Recycling, Industrial Waste Recycling, Chemical Waste Recovery, Food Waste Recycling, Agriculture Waste Recycling, Recycling Market, Thermal Waste Recovery, Construction Waste Management, Textile Recycling, Glass Recycling, Home-waste management, Recycling: Eco-balance

Waste-to-Energy is a technologically advanced means of waste disposal that is widely recognized for reducing greenhouse gases particularly methane by eliminating emissions from landfills. Waste-to-Energy takes non-hazardous waste otherwise destined for landfill and combusts it, generating steam for electricity production. Waste-to-Energy technologies consist of any waste treatment process that creates energy in the form of electricity, heat, or transport fuels (e.g., diesel) from a waste source.
Waste to Energy processes are:

Waste management is the strategy an organization uses to dispose, reduce, reuse, and prevent waste. Residual waste is nonhazardous industrial waste. It includes waste material (solid, liquid or gas) produced by industrial, mining, and agricultural operations. It excludes certain coal mining wastes and wastes from normal farming activities.

Carbon and Methane capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies are crucial components of strategies to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4). These technologies aim to capture these gases from industrial processes and power generation, store them, or utilize them for beneficial purposes. Carbon and methane capture, storage, and utilization technologies are vital tools in the global effort to address climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Continued research, technological innovation, and policy support are essential to further develop and deploy these solutions at scale.
The main methods for capturing CO2 are post-combustion; pre-combustion; and oxyfuel combustion.
